Future PM, Gordon Brown, has said that we have to out innovate and out perform our competitors in order maintain our position as a global economic leader.
As well as input by Government which needs to take more responsibility to reform and invest in training provision at work and in colleges,
businesses can also make a major contribution in raising the standards of education and training. For example Employers can offer time off for employees to train.
The Government is currently introducing a raft of initiatives to raise the skills base.
